Frequent Asked Questions

Can Cats eat cooked Duck meat?

  • Yes! Duck is a great protein source, higher in iron than chicken with lots of anti-inflammatory properties.

Is cooked Duck safe for Cats with allergies?

  • Probably. If your cat is severely allergic to chicken, duck may or may not cause a reaction as well. If your cat is allergic to beef then duck would be a good choice during elimination trials.

How to feed cooked Duck to Your Cat

  • You can gently cook it by blanching or steaming it. It's better if the inside is still bloody, like a rare steak for higher digestibility and nutrient integrity. You can also feed duck meat raw if it's of good quality and prepared under hygienic conditions.

How much cooked Duck meat can a Cat eat?

  • That depends on the size of the cat. Only duck meat is not a balanced meal and should be combined with organs and if necessary, certain supplements to reach nutrient requirements. PetCubes' duck formula for cats includes duck meat and organs with other beneficial ingredients such as  Alaskan Salmon Oil, Taurine and Sea Kelp to provide optimized nutrient concentrations.
